Twilight Terror Has Arrived!

Last night we received a shipment from Breyer that contained, not only the Ginger Ornament but also Twilight Terror. We'll be shipping pre-orders on both of those items out today. Because of the issues with Twilight Terror, we had a few cancellations on that pre-order. So, we do have a few Twilight Terror models left. We'll be putting those in the store for your purchase today. This is the last release in this series, so get yours today!

New Winter 2008 Ponies Released!

We received the information on the 8 new winter 2008 release Painted Ponies yesterday, and finally got them on the site last night. We did not post the blog last night because we were having problems with our credit card gateway declining orders. That issue has been resolved and the new herd is ready for your pre-order now. This release has many great looking new ponies so check them out.

Breyer Wintersong - Barns

Last night we received our Breyer Wintersong Christmas models. We did not receive the rest of our Breyer Christmas merchandise. We'll be shipping out all the Wintersong orders that do not have other Breyer Christmas merchandise to go with them on Monday. In the mean time we're trying to track down the rest of our Breyer Christmas merchandise so we can get it shipped out, along with any Wintersongs with other Christmas merchandise on the order. The good news is - we got Wintersong earlier than we had last been told.

We also received Breyer #302 barns last night. They are in inventory now and ready for your purchase. We did not receive the Run-in Barns. We'll be trying to track those down early next week. We're hoping they're on the way.

Breyer Christmas Order!

Last Friday we received part of our Breyer Christmas order. Delivered were: Beautiful Breeds Appaloosa ornament, Snowstar Carousel ornament, Baby's First Christmas ornament and Chilly the Snowhorse plush. The rest of the order, including Wintersong, was back ordered. In speaking with our Breyer sales representative we were told that the rest of the Christmas merchandise was not scheduled to arrive at Breyers warehouse until November 15th. While we do not have a definitive reason as to the delay, we were told that some of this merchandise will be out in stores sooner. Evidently the retailers that ordered the merchandise in the pre-pack display units received their merchandise. It's only the retailers that ordered without the pre-pack display that won't receive theirs until later. Unfortunately, we are one of those retailers that did not order the display. We will be shipping out any orders that needed the items we have received to complete them and, holding the others until the rest of the merchandise arrives. We are very sorry for this inconvenience.

Twilight Terror!

We received 12 of our total number of Twilight Terrors last night. We'll be shipping those out, to the first 12 clients to pre-order them, today. Most of our other clients that pre-ordered have decided to wait for theirs until the rest of our shipment comes in. We're being told, December 2007 or January 2008. Of course, we'll be shipping those as soon as we get them. Once we determine how many clients did not decide to hold on to their pre-orders, we'll be putting theirs back on pre-order for your purchase.

Twilight Terror!

I just got of the phone with our Breyer sales representative and the news on Twilight Terror is not good. Evidently Breyer had a total of 3 containers of Twilight Terror come in from China. The first two containers were fine, but the models in the third container all had a problem with the lighting mechanism in the model. As a result, we are being told that we will only receive a fraction of the Twilight Terrors that we had ordered. We can choose to re-order the rest, but we won't receive them until later. We don't have all the details on this yet, but we will have by this afternoon. Once we have all the details we will be emailing all of our customers who have Twilight Terror on pre-order to explain all of the options Breyer has given us, and to find out what each individual would like to do. We are being told that they will give us some kind of incentive to reorder the models we did not receive. We'll want to give our clients access to those same incentives once we know what they are, so you can make an informed decision as to what to do. We are sorry for this inconvenience. Again, if you have Twilight Terror on pre-order with us, you should be expecting a detailed email explaining the situation and outlining options. In the mean time feel free to call us at (866) 450-5244.

Twilight Terror!

We received a call from Con-way freight late last night. They said they would be delivering a large shipment from Breyer on Thursday the 27th. Of course, they don't know exactly what's on that shipment, but we can speculate. We have a large order that should be arriving in preparation for Christmas, it could be that. Or, it could be Twilight Terror, Wintersong and all the Christmas items. That would be a large shipment in itself. It could be both. We'll find out for sure what's on it when it arrives tomorrow. In the mean time, we're hoping to hear from our sales representative today. She'll know what is on tomorrows shipment. If we get news from her today we'll post an announcement here as soon as we know. Otherwise, look for another post tomorrow on whether we have received Twilight Terror on the big Con-way shipment.

Breyer Snow Globe!

Yesterday, a client told us that they had heard the Breyer 2007 Home for the Holidays musical snow globe would not be shipping this year. They said they heard there had been some sort of production problem. We contacted our sales representative and verified that the snow globe would not be shipping. No specific reason was stated.

So, If you have one or more of the Home for the Holidays snow globes on pre-order we'll be contacting you to refund your money the first of next week. We know how disappointing this is; we started collecting them for our Granddaughter last year. We're very sorry that this particular item is not being produced.

Painted Ponies - Christmas 2007!

After yesterday's valiant effort to ship out all of the Trail of Painted Ponies 2007 Christmas figurines and all 2007 pre-ordered ornaments, we were left with about six orders left to ship. We were still labeling packages when our UPS truck pulled up. The remaining 6 packages will be shipped today. Tonight everyone should have order completion emails with UPS tracking numbers. Remember, Monday is a Holiday, so shipping may be delayed slightly. We're going to have a better Labor Day Holiday knowing that we got all of the orders shipped before the weekend. We hope your Labor Day weekend is a happy and restful one.

Painted Ponies - Christmas 2007!

I'm not really sure how this happens, but it seems like every time we're trying to get pre-orders out, our UPS truck shows up early. Anyway, we got a little over 1/2 of the Christmas ponies and ornaments shipped out yesterday. We're going to try to finish shipping all Painted Ponies pre-orders out today. We'll post tomorrow morning with the outcome.

Painted Ponies - Christmas 2007!

All of the Painted Ponies ornaments are in now and we've begun shipping Christmas ponies, and all the ornaments. We got an early start this morning and 1/2 of the orders are ready for UPS pick-up. We're going to break and ship today's orders now, and then get back to shipping pre-orders. How many more we are able to get out today depends on what time our UPS truck shows up. If we don't get them all out today, we'll certainly be able to get everything shipped out tomorrow. In our cataloging of the Christmas ponies, we found no twins, and no ponies without issue numbers. We'll post another update tomorrow.

Painted Ponies - Christmas 2007!

Late Friday we received word from Westland that they had shipped the ornaments we needed to begin shipping the last of the Summer 2007 Painted Ponies release. It wasn't until yesterday that we got a Quantum View from UPS letting us no that shipment should arrive today. So, we plan to begin shipping all the 2007 Christmas Ponies, and all the ornaments tomorrow, Wednesday August 29, 2007. The Quantum View we received from UPS last Tuesday was one of our regular Westland orders. Sorry, for the confusion. I guess we were just a little to anxious to get the new ornaments.

Wednesday, August 22, 2007

Painted Ponies - Christmas 2007!

Yesterday, we cataloged 37.5% of the new Christmas ponies. Today we are shipping out all of the orders that had only Christmas ornaments on them. We also received a Quantum View from UPS showing 12 cases that are to be arriving from Westland tomorrow. That shipment could possibly be the other summer 2007 ornaments. We'll see. If that is the ornaments, we'll try to finish cataloging the Christmas ponies tomorrow so we can begin shipping on Friday.

Tuesday, August 21, 2007

Painted Ponies - Christmas 2007!

We received our Trail of Painted Ponies Christmas 2007 herd yesterday, along with the Christmas ornaments. We began cataloging the ponies yesterday and will make substantial progress today. We probably won't post daily progress reports, as we did not receive the any of the ornaments other than Christmas. We can't ship until we receive the rest of the ornaments. We'll let you know as soon as those come in. Once they do, we should be able to begin shipping. We haven't heard any word yet on when to expect them.

Saturday, August 4, 2007

Painted Ponies Summer 2007 Release Update!

We shipped all but about 15 pre-orders yesterday. We should have been able to get them all out but, again our UPS driver showed up early. The remaining 15 orders are sitting in the warehouse ready to ship and will go out Monday. "The best laid plans of mice and men". Anyway, we're glad that one is behind us and now were waiting for the 4 new Christmas figurines and 10 new ornaments. We haven't heard anything different than August 15th delivery yet, so we're hoping that's when we'll receive them. Watch for news on that delivery here.

Painted Ponies Summer 2007 Release Update!

Yesterday was a very good day! We shipped out about 66% of the remaining summer 2007 Painted Ponies orders. That's of the 8 ponies we've received. We should be in pretty good shape to get the rest of the orders out today, about 25% of the total pre-orders. We'll post an update tomorrow on today's progress.

Thursday, August 2, 2007

Painted Ponies Summer 2007 Release Update!

With having to do inventory yesterday all we could do was get the rest of Tuesday's ponies, that had been picked, shipped. So, to reach our goal of having all the new ponies shipped by the end of the week, we'll have to ship about 37.5% today and that many again tomorrow. We're going to take a run at it. Hopefully tomorrow's post will be all good news.

Wednesday, August 1, 2007

Painted Ponies Summer 2007 Release Update!

After getting everything organized to start shipping new ponies yesterday, we were moving along pretty good. We got about 25% of the orders picked and were feeling pretty good about things until our UPS driver showed up about 2 hours early. So, in the end we actually shipped about half of what we had picked. We've got inventory today which may slow us down a little, but we're confident that we'll be able to get all the 8 summer 2007 release ponies out by the end of the week. Due to our warehouse space constraints we have decided to ship even partial orders. In other words, if you ordered some of the eight ponies along with some of the Christmas ponies and ornaments, we are shipping whatever you ordered of the 8 now instead of waiting until we receive the Christmas ponies and ornaments. We have been told that the Christmas ponies and ornaments should be in sometime in August. We'll be posting another update tomorrow.

Painted Ponies Summer 2007 Release Update!

After working all weekend cataloging ponies, we had a lot to catch up on yesterday, along with getting all the weekend orders shipped. So, we didn't get any new ponies shipped. We're going to start shipping today, and we'll get as many out as we possibly can. We'll post a progress report tomorrow letting you know what percentage we've shipped.

Monday, July 30, 2007

Painted Ponies Summer 2007 Release Update!

It wasn't easy, but somehow we did it. We finished cataloging all of the ponies yesterday. Along the way we found several more sets of twins, and at least two ponies with no issue numbers. We'll make those available for purchase in the store soon, or within the next couple weeks. We'll begin shipping the new releases today. I'm not sure how many we'll get through, because we've got the normal heavy weekend shipping to do first. We'll see what we can do. We'll post our progress tomorrow.

Sunday, July 29, 2007

Painted Ponies Summer 2007 Release Update!

After yesterday, we've finished cataloging 50% of the new herd of 8 ponies. This is the largest order we've ever received and it's not going as fast as we had hoped. We're short of warehouse space to complete the task efficiently. Still, we are making progress and we're going to attempt to finish the rest today. We'll see how it goes.

We found 8 sets of Dynasty Pony twins yesterday, and two Dynasty Ponies with no issue number. These finds are now running a little higher than normal. Look for our update tomorrow morning.

Saturday, July 28, 2007

Painted Ponies Summer 2007 Release Update!

Yesterday we completed cataloging 38% of the 8 new ponies. We're bringing in extra help for the weekend to make sure we get them all finished by Sunday. Interestingly, we have found three sets of twins thus far into the project. All three were Northern Lights. I suppose that number is about average considering the number of ponies we've cataloged so far. We'll post another update tomorrow morning.

Friday, July 27, 2007

Painted Ponies Summer 2007 Release Update!

We completed cataloging of 25% of the new ponies yesterday. So, Stardust and Northern Lights are complete. We'll try to complete another 25% today. We still expect to start shipping on Monday. We believe we'll be able to finish cataloging the remainder of the ponies on Saturday and Sunday. Remember, this is only the first 8. The four Christmas ponies and all ornaments are not expected to be delivered to us until Mid-August. We'll post a progress report on this BLOG again tomorrow.

Thursday, July 26, 2007

Summer Herd Progress Report!

We started out yesterday morning sorting cases of ponies to make our cataloging of issue numbers go a little easier. Once we finished sorting we began cataloging the first 2 of the 8 new ponies. They are packed 8 ponies to a case with 4 each of two different ponies in two of the cases and 2 each of four different ponies in one case. We started with one of the two packs containing Northern Lights and Stardust. We finished cataloging about 30% of those which is probably about 10% of the entire shipment. We expect to catalog the majority of the ponies on Saturday and Sunday and we are planning on having them all finished on Sunday. We'll post another progress report tomorrow.

The New Herd Has Arrived!

Last night at 6:00 PM MST our Yellow Freight truck backed up to the warehouse and we unloaded thousands of new ponies. Yellow Freight had called us yesterday asking if we'd be here to receive a late delivery, and we said bring it on! The ponies are in the warehouse, and today we begin the task of opening each box and recording the issue numbers. Once we get them all cataloged we can begin shipping them out in the order we received pre-orders. We'll be posting a progress report tomorrow morning to keep you up-to-date on how we're coming on cataloging. Yesterday's delivery was a pleasant surprise.

More Delays!

Our shipment of new ponies that was supposed to be delivered to Flagstaff yesterday, sat in Phoenix all day yesterday. When we tracked the shipment this morning, it now shows that it has left Phoenix this morning and is on it's way to Flagstaff "today". Barring any further delays it should hit our warehouse sometime tomorrow. Of course, it could be delayed again in Flagstaff. We're doing all we can to keep you up-to-date on what's happening, even though the news is not always what we would like. We'll be posting updates on this BLOG daily until your figurines are ready to ship to you. We apologize for these delays.

Painted Ponies Summer 2007 Release Update!

We did a tracking on our shipment of the 10th release Painted Ponies herd today. We found that this morning our shipment was still in Phoenix. They are supposed to be on their way to Flagstaff today. Evidently, they have to go up to Flagstaff and then back down to us, in Sedona. So, we're hoping to receive them tomorrow. We'll be posting another update tomorrow, so keep watching!

New Herd - Late Breaking News!

We just received word from Westland that our summer 2007 ponies are, in fact, in route via Yellow Freight. Their ETA is Monday. If this works out, we'll begin cataloging ponies the moment they arrive, and we should be shipping them to our clients by the end of the week. Remember: This is only the first 8 figurines. Christmas ponies and all ornaments are not expected to be received until August 15th.

What do we mean by cataloging? We open each individual figurine, check and record the issue number so that our lowest issue numbers can be shipped to those people who have ordered from us first.

This is our largest pre-order ever, so we don't know exactly how long cataloging will take, we're estimating 3 to 4 days. Once cataloged we take each pre-order, in the order we received it, and start shipping out lowest issue numbers first. As far as we know, there is only one other company who actually checks the issue numbers. However; they check them so they can sell the low issue numbers for more money and, we believe, ship higher issue numbers to their pre-order clients. We believe your pre-order entitles you to low issue numbers. While our Westland sales representative tells us there are no guarantees on low issue numbers, we have made it clear that we expect past history to dictate future performance. Either way, your pre-order will get you the lowest issue numbers we receive.

Painted Ponies Summer 2007 Release.

Late yesterday morning, Wednesday July 18th, we received an email from Westland letting us know that our Summer 2007 ponies had been picked and were ready to be shipped to us. This shipment is only the 8 figurines, Christmas figurines and all ornaments are not expected to ship until mid-August. Once we got word that the ponies were ready to ship we scrambled to get bids from trucking companies to deliver the product to us. Yesterday afternoon arrangements were made and to the best of our knowledge the ponies were picked up from Westland and should be on there way to us.

It is important to note that most companies selling Painted Ponies don't order enough to ship by truck, they receive there merchandise UPS ground. We discovered early on that when our merchandise is delivered to us UPS ground many of the cartons are damaged. While the figurines are in good shape the collectors boxes are often crushed, dented or torn. We believe this is due to over handling of the cartons, from truck to conveyor belt to another truck and so on and so fourth until the product finally reaches us. By having our merchandise delivered by freight truck the product is handled only by Westland and us. Once the product is picked at Westland it is placed on pallets and shrink wrapped. It is loaded on to the truck and delivered direct to us with no additional handling. We believe that by doing things this way, you ultimately receive a better quality product. Sure, we love selling to you at the lowest available price, but that doesn't mean we're not constantly trying to improve on quality.

Once our shipment arrives we will be cataloging each figurine in preparation for sending your ponies to you with the lowest issue numbers going to the clients that ordered their ponies first. We do this because we know, that to many of our clients, low issue numbers are important. This additional service, not provided by our competitors, is our way of saying "thank you" for purchasing your ponies through us.

Retiring Ponies Announced!

Trail of Painted Ponies has just announced the retirement of six more ponies. If these aren't in your collection yet, you may want to pick them up now. Just retired are: Fallen Heroes Memorial Pony, Deck the Halls, Horsepower to Burn, Wilderness Roundup, Big Red, and American Dream Horse. Once Westland has cleared their warehouse these ponies will be gone for good. Other than what may be in production now, they won't be making any more of these.

Makin Room for the New Herd!

We ordered over 5,000 units of the Trail of Painted Ponies 10th release and they are selling faster than we ever imagined. The challenge is to make room in the warehouse to sort and catalog each pony, a monumental task. As you may know, we check the issue number on each pony and ship them out lowest number to the first person to pre-order and so on. If you haven't ordered yours yet you may be missing an opportunity for a low number. As far as we know, we are the only company that catalogs the issue numbers. So, if you're ordering with someone else you can wait, they never know what number they're selling you anyway.

To make room we will be offering some huge specials for the rest of this month. This week until mid-night June 17, 2007 we are offering 20% off all Painted Ponies clothing and ball caps. All ornaments (except pre-orders) are also marked 20% off this week only. It is highly unlikely that we will ever offer these deep discounts again since our regular pricing is already far below that of our competition. Take advantage of this opportunity. You may never see anything like it again!

New Summer 2007 Painted Ponies

At Last! The new Trail of Painted Poinies Summer 2007 herd has been released. To view, and pre-order, all of the new releases visit our Internet Store at www.lookagifthorse.com. The eight new figurines are: Stardust, Wie-Tou, Northern Lights, Sacred Reflection of Time, Boot Camp Pony, Navajo Black Beauty, Dynasty Pony, and Ceremonial Pony. In addition, there are four new Christmas 2007 figurines being released Gingerbread Pony, Penguin Express, Poinsettia Pony and Feliz Navidad are a must have for Christmas 2007. Also look for these four Christmas ponies as ornaments - they are packed in tins this year. Other new ornaments include, Copper Enchantment, Sacred Reflection of Time, Siverado, Native Jewel Pony, Dream Warriors and Boot Camp Pony.

If you are not familiar with our program here's an overview: When you place your pre-order, and pre-pay for the new release figurines you are interested in, we secure your first edition figurine. In addition, we ship issue numbers based on the date and time of your order. In other words, if you are the first person to place a pre-order with us, we will ship you the lowest number first edition we receive. When the new ponies come in September we will open each box and catalog all issue numbers before shipping a single pony. Then we begin shipping out ponies lowest numbers going out to the people who placed their orders first. The next lowest goes to the second person to have placed a pre-order with us, and so on and so forth until every last pony is gone. We often sell out before we receive delivery.

Don't delay - get your pre-order in today!

New Herd - Trail of Painted Ponies

The latest news we're hearing is that the new herd of ponies will be released around the 1st of June. We still think that it is possible they'll be released just before the Labor Day weekend. That would be consistent with what was done last year. In the mean time, the ponies being released, and their prices are being kept Top Secret. Until we get the information on the items and prices we can't pre-sell. So, we're just waiting for now. Keep an eye on this BLOG, because this will be where we put the first announcement up, once we receive the information. The order of things: Once we get word, the new herd will go in the store for pre-order, we'll immediately post the information on this BLOG, and then we'll begin e-mailing our customers. It can take up to 3 days to get all the emails out. Since first pre-orders in get the lowest issue numbers we receive, this BLOG is the best place to get the information that will insure you low numbers.

Breyer - Silver Dapple Mustang

What is it? That's what we were wondering until this morning. Evidently, while running test colors for the "Where in the World is Pegasus?" models Breyer had a couple hundred of these made. Instead of destroying them they randomly put them in some of the cases of Pegasus product shipped out to retailers. We don't know who got them, but we could not find them at any of the on-line retailers we checked. We did find them on E-bay though. If you've just gotta have one, you may want to check there. Good luck, and Happy Shopping.

This brings our stock levels close to 100% and we are confident that this state of bliss will last until Christmas this year. If you've been looking for Snowflake, you should order right away. We only have 24 in stock for now.

Stock Status 3/28/07

We received a Breyer delivery Monday that brought our stock levels back up to a pretty good level. We are still on back order for #302 the Breyer deluxe wood barn. We still have no idea when those will be delivered. We are also on back order for 2 of the Breyer "Where in the World is Pegasus" horses. We are told we can expect delivery sometime in April. We placed another Breyer order yesterday to try to keep up with the demand.

Last night we started receiving Trail of Painted Ponies "Run for the Roses", and we received another delivery this morning. For those of you who have placed your order, we will be shipping those today.

Trail of Painted Ponies shipments have been few and far between. We are still on back order for quite a few items. We're hoping to see shipments coming in all through April although we're hearing many items will be delivered in late April.

Introducing - The Crystal Twins!

Our auction starts tomorrow, Monday. We're starting off with the Crystal Twins both 1st editions both issue #1996.

The image on the left shows the base of each figurine. What you see is that both figurines have identical numbers. This is extremely rare. In the auction you will be bidding on the set. We need an opening bid of $100.00 to begin the auction.

All proceeds from this auction go to HealthWorld a (501)C3 and will be allocated specifically to the Horsense Children's Camp. For more information on the auction and our charity please view our earlier post "Auction".

Update: Run for the Roses

We've already sold the first 4 "Run for the Roses" figurines we acquired. The good news is that, this morning we found 6 more in Oklahoma and in Utah they're telling us they can get us another 12. So, keep sending those emails and we'll keep trying to find more for you.

Happy Hunting!

Great News! Run for the Roses!

Okay, thanks to one of our "best" clients we have located 4 Run for the Roses figurines at a Dillard's in New Mexico. They are shipping them to us now. We already have one request on the books for these, and if you still haven't found yours yet, email us and we'll hook you up with one of the other 3. We're still out there looking and we now think there may be a chance we'll find more. We'll be shipping these back out as soon as we receive them.

Happy Hunting!

Painted Ponies delivery scheduled for Friday!

We received an email from Westland last night that they had shipped 3 ponies we've really been missing. UPS confirmed delivery for Friday. Coming on that shipment will be "Copper Enchantment", "Sounds of Thunder", and "Silverado". Remember, these will not be first editions, those have been sold out for months. They may be second editions or they could be third editions. We won't know until they are delivered.
Update on "Run for the Roses": We have been trying to contact Dillard's to check availability. So far the only information we have received is that the smaller stores may not get any at all. That was the word from the store in Prescott, AZ. We have since called the Dillard's in Scottsdale, and they are trying to get some for us. They are telling us we may not get as many as we've asked for and that they would probably have to be shipped to us from one of their other stores. We'll keep you posted, on this blog.

Run for the Roses!

Late this week one of our customers asked us for information on a new figurine from Trail of Painted Ponies. We checked into it and found out that "Run for the Roses" had been produced for Dillard's, exclusively. In other words, we cannot purchase this pony from Westland because The Trail of Painted Ponies has given Dillard's the exclusive rights to this particular pony. This is similar to the situation with the Phoenix Pony that was produced exclusively for one of the concessionaire's at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.

Okay, so why are they being sold on ebay? Well, the people or companies selling on ebay have purchased some of these figurines from Dillard's and are now re-selling them at a huge mark-up. Capitalism - what are you going to do?

Our suggestion would be to purchase these ponies at your local Dillard's, you'll get the best price there. If you don't have a Dillard's nearby email us at sales@lookagifthorse.com and we'll try to get them for you. We will have to take a mark-up on them, but you'll still get them much cheaper than you can on ebay. Given the fact that only 2,500 were produced and there are over 350 Dillard's stores, they may be hard to come by.

Our goal has always been to get you the lowest available prices on Trail of Painted Ponies and Breyer Horses products - that will never change. In this particular situation, the lowest available price will be Dillard's. While you're there, check thier prices on any other Trail of Painted Ponies figurines, you'll find we are far, far below their price.

Rockin' Moon Collection

We are proud to announce the addition of "The Rockin' Moon Collection" to our product lines. These pieces are essentially home furnishings and decor and can be found on our site under the "Home & Office" category.

About the artist: J. Frank Hobbs was born and raised in a ranching and rodeo atmosphere. As a native son of Colorado, and a former professional rodeo contestant, Frank brings his impressions of livestock and their spirit to his artwork. Frank's involvement with metalworking began at an early age. Formally schooled in design and metalworking the artist combines various metals with his own images of the West to create his one-of-a-kind pieces. Not only are Frank's designs original, they are created by the artisan to last a lifetime.

The Rockin' Moon has agreed to drop ship this merchandise for us due to our warehouse space shortage. This is a large line of products and we will be adding more to the line as time allows.

We really think you're going to like Frank's work!

St. Patrick's Day thoughts

When I think of St. Patrick's Day I think of things like luck, shamrocks, leprechauns, and of course, the color green. Don't forget to wear green today! Anyway, when I think of luck I think of horseshoes and the luck that is reported to be involved in hanging one over your door. That brings me to my story, the story of the Devil and St. Dunstan.

It has been said that the Devil went to St. Dunstan to have his horse shod. Evidently, St. Dunstan nailed a red hot horse shoe to the Devil's hoof which of course caused him great pain. St. Dunstan agreed to remove the shoe only after the Devil had agreed never to set foot (hoof) in a home that had a horseshoe nailed above the door. Thus, the lucky horseshoe legend.

If you have any other stories about lucky horseshoes, please post them in comments. We'd love to see them!

Painted Ponies Stock Status 3/14/2007

Westland emailed us information yesterday on what is coming on our shipment tomorrow. Evidently, we are still on back order for Snowflake, Year of the Horse, Renewal of Life, Sounds of Thunder, Copper Enchantment and Silverado. I'm sure these items will be shipped as soon as Westland receives them from China, so we'll probably be getting product in every week for awhile. I am hoping that some of these items will be in before April, but I really don't know for sure. In the mean time we'll be posting updates as we get more information. On a more positive note, we will be receiving the new Woodland Hunter and Fancy Dancer Lamps on Thursdays delivery. Can't wait to see them!

Stock Status 3/12/07

We received a Breyer delivery last night that brought our stock levels back to, what I would call, acceptable. We are still back ordered on #302 Deluxe Wood Barn and a couple traditional accessories, #2461 English Rider Accessories and
#2462 Western Rider Accessories. For the most part we are in pretty good shape. We are placing another order today to try to get a little ahead of the game, it should be delivered in about 2 weeks.

We placed a substantial Trail of Painted Ponies order a couple weeks ago which we are to receive this Thursday. We have been back ordered on Snowflake, Copper Enchantment, Sounds of Thunder, Silverado, and Renewal of Life for quite some time. We don't have any definitive word as to whether those items will be on this shipment. We do know that for this particular order we have been back ordered on War Pony, Caballo Brillante, Earth, Wind and Fire, Medicine Horse and Heavenly Pony which are not expected to ship until late April. We know that our friends at Westland Giftware are doing the best that they can to keep up with the demand.

We hope this information is helpful. We'll post another update after we receive our Painted Pony delivery on Thursday.

Auction!

When we began cataloging Trail of Painted Ponies first edition figurines, we never knew how important it would be to our clients. Now that it has become part of what we do, we wanted to share some irregularities with you. Very rarely, 6 sets of ponies over the last 3 sets of new releases, we have come across figurines of the same edition number with the same issue number. We call them twins. We realize sometimes irregularities can be very valuable to serious collectors. However, we have no idea how valuable these sets of twins really are and could not come up with any way to find out other than auctioning them off. Since most companies do not catalog their first editions, as we do, there may be other sets out there, although owned separately by different individuals. Because of the way we do things, we are able to bring these sets to you as "twins" plus one first edition figurine with no issue number.

Having said that we do not know how valuable these sets may be, we do not feel comfortable profiting from this fortuitous situation. So, all the proceeds from our auction will go to a not-for-profit organization specifically to fund a program that we helped to start several years ago while we were in the horse business. The organization is Health World and the program is the Horsense Equestrian Youth Riding Camp. This is a fantastic program that puts children, that would not otherwise have the opportunity, with horses. And of course, we believe the saying, "the best thing for the inside of a child is the outside of a horse".

About the auction: The auction will be conducted via email. Opening bids on each set will be not less than $100.00. To participate simply email us an alias you would like to use for the auction, the email address you would like us to send information to concerning recent bids, and a contact telephone number. We will send you an email when the bidding opens on each set and the date and time the bidding will close. We will notify you of other bids as they come in and the highest bidder after the close of bidding. We will call the winning bidder to collect funds and prepare for shipping at the close of bidding. If the winning bidder is unavailable or unable to pay for the set the next highest bidder will be contacted and so on. In the case that there are two sets of the same figurines with different issue numbers the winning bidder will receive the lowest issue number and the second highest bidder will be given the option to take the next set at their last bid. If they decline we will begin the bidding over for the higher numbered second set.

Items to be auctioned off:
Set of 2 Crystal Figurines - Item#12238 - 1E/1996
Set of 2 Horse With No Name Figurines - Item#12229 - 1E/0915
" " - 1E/1616
Set of 2 Bedazzled Figurines - Item#12245 - 1E/1649
" " - 1E/1818
Set of 2 Viva Las Vegas Figurines - Item#12246 - 1E/2321
One only! Bedazzled Figurine - Item#12245 - 1E/No Number!

Please email us at sales@lookagifthorse.com with your information. We are planning to start the bidding with "The Crystal Twins" on Monday, March 12, 2007. Happy Bidding and Good Luck!

Barbaro

The rumor is true! Due to the passing of the mighty steed "Barbaro", Breyer has decided to reproduce the 1/9 scale traditional benefit model #1307 for the last time. Breyer will donate $10.00 of each sale to support the Laminitis Fund recently established at University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center where Barbaro was treated.

Unfortunately, no Breyer retailer is allowed to purchase more than 6 models per location. Since Look A Gift Horse has only one location we have purchased all the models that we are allowed, "6". With such a small number available to us we will not be putting these in the store. Rather, we will search our customer base for our largest Breyer customers who did not get one of the original Barbaro models and offer them to those clients first. We intend to go down the list until all six have been sold. We really wish we could get more of them, but there's nothing we can do. We are expecting delivery in late July.

The good news is that you can get these models from Breyer directly for $45.00 + $8.00 for shipping and handling. These orders must be placed at www.breyerhorses.com not later than March 31, 2007 and are limited to 2 per household.
